AlphaScore is an online education company focused on providing test prep for the LSAT (Law School Admissions Test). The company was started by Greg & Matt, two brothers.
Greg took the LSAT in 2002 receiving a high score that got him into the law school of his choice. This led him to teach LSAT classes while attending law school at the University of British Columbia and continued teaching while practicing law with top international law firms Borden Ladner Gervais LLP and later Blake Cassels & Graydon LLP, in the area of Securities and Capital Markets.
In 2010, Greg was teaching weekend LSAT courses while still maintaining a career in securities law at a big firm. He wanted to improve the learning experience for his current students and wanted to help more students improve their LSAT scores. For Greg, taking his course online meant an opportunity to get more students into law school and be able to deliver the course at an accessible price while also delivering a far better learning experience for students. At that time, he and his brother, Matt Smith, launched AlphaScore’s online course offerings, the first fully on-demand online courses for LSAT prep.
Greg and Matt later co-founded Thinkific, a technology platform to enable others to also offer online courses. Through the Thinkific online learning platform, they’ve helped more than 20M students learn and over 40,000 instructors reach more students with online courses.
